Montana Community Foundation funds
Field of Interest Funds
With help from many partners, the Foundation has created field of interest funds that address specific needs in Montana. Grants awarded from the earnings of the following three funds are directed toward improving the quality of life in Montana communities in special ways. Donors who share the goals of these funds are invited to support them with gifts of any size at any time of the year. They make wonderful gifts in honor or memory of family and friends.

The Women's Foundation of Montana
The Women’s Foundation of Montana was created in 1999 with a challenge grant from the Chambers Family Fund of Colorado. The Fund sought to build a permanent funding source for women and girls in Montana, where the Chambers family’s oil business had previously operated. The challenge was met in 2005, when the $500,000 challenge was matched dollar for dollar to establish the initial $1 million permanent endowment. Since then, the Foundation has awarded more than $430,000 in grants to nonprofit agencies in Montana working to improve the economic status of women and create a brighter economic future for girls.

The Montana Renaissance Fund
This fund grew from a challenge grant from the Ford Foundation to build an endowment in support of rural community vitality. Specifically, the Renaissance Fund supports the creation and growth of local community foundations. Who better to make local granting decisions and address immediate needs, after all, than local communities?
