Scholarship Criteria by County
Alan and Janette Blackburn Scholarship: (23BLAK)
- Applicant must be a graduating senior or have graduated from a Montana high school.
- GPA must be 3.5 or above.
- Applicant must have graduated in the upper 21% of their class.
- Applicant must be or plan to be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
BBX Scholarship: (23BBXS)
- Applicant must be a member of the Builders Exchange of Billings, employed by a member, or an immediate relation of a member or dependents.
- Applicant must be attending an accredited post-secondary educational institution public or private college, university, or college of technology.
- Applicant must submit essays each limited to 100 words
- Awarded can reapply GPA requirement of a 2.0 or higher
D.A. Davidson Education Memorial Scholarship: (23DADF)
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher (high school and/or college)
- Applicant's parent must be employed by D.A. Davidson for a minimum of one year at the time of first award check is issued, or parent must work at least 30-hrs a week
- Applicant's parent (includes Step, and adopted children) and employee are eligible
- Applicant can be full-time or part-time (minimum of 6 credits)
- Applicant must demonstrate academic achievement.
- Applicant must be or plan to be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
- Applicant must provide the following:
- Financial Need
- Long-term goal and objectives
- Participation in community activities
*Dearborn Ranch Montana Game Wardens Scholarship: (23DRSFGW)
- Applicant must be a natural or adopted child of an active uniformed officer who is currently employed by the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks as a Game Warden.
- Applicant must demonstrate a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above through the first semester of the senior year of high school.
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
- Renewal requirements:
- Must complete assigned student information and acceptance form
- Must submit most recent transcript
- GPA of 2.75 or higher
*Dearborn Ranch Montana Highway Patrol Scholarship: (23DRSFHP)
- Applicant must be a natural or adopted child of an active uniformed officer who the Montana Highway Patrol currently employs.
- Applicant must demonstrate a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above through the first semester of the senior year of high school.
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
- Renewal requirements:
- Must complete assigned student information and acceptance form
- Must submit most recent transcript
- GPA of 2.75 or higher
Evelyn B Johnson Memorial Scholarship (23EJMS)
- Applicant must be a member of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from a Montana high school.
- Applicant must demonstrate a high school GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Selection is based on the following factors: financial need, participation in school, community and church activities, long-term goals, and motivation
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
Glacier Bancorp Inc. Leadership Scholarship: (23GBBS)
Open to all Montana Counties and out of state (Limited to employee or employee child of Glacier Bancorp)
- Applicant must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher (high school and/or college)
- Applicant recipients must be currently employed (or have a parent employed) by Glacier Bancorp (At the time the first award check is issued)
- Children and Stepchildren of employees are eligible
- Full-time or part-time students are eligible
- Awards will not be based on a geographic, however geographic diversity is highly desirable & be considered
- Applicant must be currently or must plan to be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
Kay McMillan Nursing Scholarship: (23KMSE)
- Applicant must be one of the following:
- A graduating senior enrolled in the pre-nursing program at Montana Tech
- A current pre-nursing student at Montana Tech
- A nursing student in the Montana Tech Nursing Program
- Strong preference for nontraditional students, i.e., older, re-entry students, especially those who have overcome significant barriers to return to school
- Demonstrated financial need
- Preference to graduates of all Silver Bow County High Schools
- Applicants minimum pre-nursing student or high school GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to community health
- Reapply to scholarship year after year up to 4 years.
Louise A. Dean All Montana Tribal Nations Scholarship: (23DEANTN)
- Applicant must be a member of One of the 8 Montana Tribes
- Applicant must provide documentation of Enrollment.
- Applicant must have a GPA of at least 2.25 or higher.
- Applicant must provide proof of financial need.
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
- Renewal Criteria:
- Applicant must complete assigned Student Information form
- Submit most recent transcript
- GPA must be 2.25 or higher
- Student must provide schedule of full-time status for the upcoming AY
T. Eugene Young Montana's Promise Scholarship: (23TEYS)
- Applicant must be a high school senior graduating from a Montana High School.
- Applicant must demonstrate a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Applicant must be going on to college to study (STEM) science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or healthcare.
- Selection is based on financial need
- Applicant must provide 3 References
- Preference will be given to those applicants who plan to attend a university/college in Montana.
- Applicant must plan to be attending an accredited post-secondary educational institution, (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school)
*Reach for the Future Scholarship: (23VMSE) – Two students will be awarded 1- 2-year and 1 – 4-year.
- Applicant must be a Montana Resident:
- Graduate from a Montana high school OR
- Provide a strong connection to Montana
- Family, historic, or strong personal connection
- Strong preference for nontraditional, i.e., older, re-entry students
- Applicant must plan or be currently enrolled at an accredited post-secondary educational institution, (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school)
- 2 year - community college, college of technology, or technical school
- Pursuing a certificate in a specialized field related but not limited to Aviation Technology, Industrial welding, Metal Fabrication, Carpentry, Computer-aided Design, etc.
OR
- 4 years - must have successfully completed 60 credit hours
- Must be a natural resources or agricultural field
- Field study may include but not limited to botany, geology, hydrology, wildlife biology, agricultural economics, animal, range, or plant sciences.
- Applicant must be enrolled with 9 or more credits
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need
- Renewable up to 2 years:
- Must have a 2.0 GPA or higher
- Must provide a current non-official Transcript -
- Name, 9+ credits, and next semester class schedule
- Must complete MCF renewal student information and acceptance form
*Mabel Redding Memorial Scholarship: (23MRSF)
- Applicant must be a graduating senior from Hardin High School.
- Applicant must demonstrate a GPA of at least 3.0 during their junior and senior years of high school.
- Applicant must be a resident of Big Horn County, Montana.
- Applicant must provide a copy of their Acceptance Letter
- Applicants provide their entrance exam score
- Additional selection based on financial need, extracurricular activities, and academic achievement
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
- Scholarship is renewable and student must be full-time. (12+ credits)
- Renewal requirements:

Fred & Gloria Thaut Webber Scholarship: (23WEBR)
- Applicant must be a senior graduate or former resident of Big Horn County or Carbon County, or senior graduating or graduate of Custer Public Schools
- Applicant must be one of the following:
- A high school senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above
- A full-time college student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- A non-traditional college student enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time student, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Selection is based on the following factors: financial need, participation in school, church, and community activities, participation in 4-H as a current or former member or leader, and long-term goals.
- Preference to those who are pursuing a career in education, agriculture, agriculture-business, or agriculture-engineering
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
- Reapply for scholarship up to 3 years after 1st award
Broadwater Community Foundation Scholarship: (23BWCF)
- Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in Broadwater County.
- Selection is based on the following criteria: academic achievement, financial need, and participation in school, community, and church activities.
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
Ray Doig Memorial Scholarship: (23DOIG)
- Applicant must be a graduating senior from Broadwater High School.
- Applicant must demonstrate a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7 or higher
- Selection is based on extracurricular activities
- Applicant has faced or overcome an exceptional circumstance
- Preference to applicants who have interest or plan to pursue a the Fish and Wildlife area of study
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
Fred & Gloria Thaut Webber Scholarship: (23WEBR)
- Applicant must be senior graduate or former resident of Big Horn County or Carbon County, or senior graduating or graduate of Custer Public Schools
- Applicant must be one of the following:
- A high school senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above
- A full-time college student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above
- A non-traditional college student enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time student, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

Walter & Elaine Anderson Scholarship: (23WEAS)
- Applicant must be a high school graduate or graduated from one of the following counties: Custer, Prairie, McCone, Dawson, Carter, Wibaux, Richland, Fallon, Powder River, Sheridan, Roosevelt, Daniels, Valley, Garfield, Rosebud, Treasure, and Big Horn.
- Applicant must be interested in pursuing a degree and career in education, strong preference for the study or treatment of speech and language disorders.
- Selection is based on the following factors: academic achievement, financial need, participation in school, church, and community activities, and long-term goals and objectives.
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
- Awarded recipients can reapply up to a total of 3 years of 1st Award.
Great Falls High School Class of 1951 Scholarship: (23GFHS)
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Great Falls High School.
- Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 or higher
- Applicant must demonstrate leadership and good citizenship.
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school) in Montana.
Walter & Elaine Anderson Scholarship: (23WEAS)
- Applicant must be a high school graduate or graduated from one of the following counties: Custer, Prairie, McCone, Dawson, Carter, Wibaux, Richland, Fallon, Powder River, Sheridan, Roosevelt, Daniels, Valley, Garfield, Rosebud, Treasure, and Big Horn.
- Applicant must be interested in pursuing a degree and career in education, strong preference for the study or treatment of speech and language disorders.
- Selection is based on the following factors: academic achievement, financial need, participation in school, church, and community activities, and long-term goals and objectives.

Leo & Anne Berry Honor of Joan Marie Scholarship: (23BESE)
- Applicants must be a graduating senior or a graduate of Anaconda High School.
- GPA must be 2.5 or higher.
- Applicant pursuing a degree in Education, preference to those in elementary
- Applicant selection is based on the following factors: participation in volunteer work or extracurricular, church, and community services.
- Applicant must be or to be enrolled at an accredited Montana university/college.
- Applicants must provide a resume including any community service, volunteer work, or extra-curricular activities.
- Applicants must provide a list of other scholarships and grants applied for and received for the upcoming school year and the monetary value of each scholarship or grant award.
- Applicants or awarded can reapply for up to 4 years.
Walter & Elaine Anderson Scholarship: (23WEAS)

Nelson L. Seeley Scholarship: (23NSEE)
- Applicant must be a graduating senior from Baker High School.
- Applicant must demonstrate a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 or higher
- Selection is based on the following additional criteria: financial need and character.
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
Marcia Edsall Scholarship: (23MEBP)
- Applicant must be female.
- Applicant must be a resident or former resident of Gallatin County, Montana and a graduate of Bozeman High School or Belgrade High School.
- Applicant must be a full-time student entering their junior or senior any post-secondary school in the United States.
- Applicant must have maintained continuous enrollment at an accredited post-secondary institution unless medical or financial difficulties required an interruption in continuous enrollment.
- Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need.
- Applicant may reapply up to 4 years
Quad Five Scholarship: (23QUAD)
- Applicant must be a graduating senior from Lavina or Ryegate High School
- Selection is based on the following additional criteria: financial need, scholastic aptitude, field of study, and participation in school, community, and church activities.
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
*Sam & Hulda Clark Scholarship: (23CLAR)
- Applicant must be a resident of the Golden Valley County and a graduating senior from Lavina or Ryegate High School.
- Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Applicant must be currently or plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
- Award is a 4-year renewal, based on renewal criteria.
- Renewal requirements:
- Applicant must complete student information and acceptance form

- GPA of 3.0 or higher
Wyman Family Memorial Scholarship: (23WFMS)
- Applicant must be a graduate or a graduating senior from Granite County High School, in Philipsburg, Montana.
- Applicant must demonstrate a high school GPA of at least 2.0 or higher.
- Selection is based on the following additional criteria: financial need, participation in school, church, and community activities, and long-term goals and objectives.
- Applicant must be currently or plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).

- Applicant must be a graduating senior or a graduate of Whitehall High School.

Mark Kelly Scholarship in memory of Ruth Kelly: (23MKSF)
- Applicant must be a graduate of Jefferson High School in Boulder:

Montana Trial Lawyers Association Scholarship: (23T&LS)
- Applicant must be a graduating senior from Helena High School or Capital High School in Lewis and Clark County.
- Applicant must demonstrate a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need.
- Applicant must demonstrate participation in school, church, and community activities, and complete an essay on long-term goals and objectives.
- Applicant must plan to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
*Philip A & Bonnie J. Henault Blackfoot Valley Educational Scholarship: (23HBVF)
- Applicant must be a graduate or graduating senior.
- Applicant must live or lived in one of the following towns: Helmville, Lincoln, or Ovando, Montana.
- Applicant must demonstrate a GPA of at least a 2.0 or higher. (first-time non-traditional applicants not required)
- Selection is based on the following additional criteria: past performance in academic and vocational areas, achievement in school and community activities, leadership potential, and academic effort.
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
- Renewal Criteria:

- Applicant must be a graduating senior of one of the following high schools:

- Applicant must demonstrate a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Seeley Family Memorial Scholarship: (23SFMS)
- Applicant must be a member of the Helena First Presbyterian Church, an employee of the Helena First Presbyterian Church, or a child of an employee.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior or graduate from Helena High School
- Minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Demonstrated financial need
- Demonstrated good character
- Applicant must be currently or plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
Stanley Howard Larson Memorial Scholarship: (23LARS)
- Applicant must be a graduating senior from Helena High School.
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
- Applicant must demonstrate a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 or higher.
- Selection criteria includes financial need.
Steve Frankino Capital High School Class of 1977 Scholarship: (23CHSS)
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Capital High School.
- Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 or higher.
- Applicant must demonstrate leadership and good citizenship.
- Applicant must be planning to attend a full four-year program of study at a Montana School.
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
Reiland Memorial Scholarship: (23RMSF)
- Applicant must be a graduating senior or a graduate of Chester-Joplin-Inverness High School.
- Applicant must have earned a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.
- Selection is based on the following additional criteria: financial need, potential for development, life goals and expectations, academic achievement, leadership abilities, school and community participation, and personal attributes
- Applicant must be attending a regionally accredited public or private college, university or college of technology
- Awarded are eligible to re-apply for scholarship for up to 4 years.

Saco High School Memorial Scholarship: (23SACO)
- Applicant must be graduating senior from Saco High School.
- Applicant must be enrolled or planning to attend a regionally accredited public or private college, university or college of technology .
- Applicant must have maintained a 2.0 GPA or higher.

Glasgow Elks Lodge #1922 Scholarship: (23GELK)
- Applicant must be a graduating senior from one of the following high schools: Whitewater, Opheim, Glasgow, Hinsdale, Nashua, Malta, or Saco.
- Applicant must demonstrate a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Selection is based on the following factors: financial need, academic achievement, leadership ability, school and community participation, and personal attributes.
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
*Philip A & Bonnie J. Henault Blackfoot Valley Educational Scholarship: (23 HVBF)
- Applicant must be a graduate or graduating senior.
- Applicant must live or lived in one of the following towns: Helmville, Lincoln, or Ovando, Montana.
- Applicant must demonstrate a GPA of at least 2.0 or higher. (first-time non-traditional applicants not required.)
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need.
- Selection is based on the following additional criteria: past performance in academic and vocational areas, achievement in school and community activities, leadership potential, and academic effort.
- Applicant must be currently or plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).

- Applicant must be pursuing undergraduate, graduate academic, or vocational degree
- Non-Traditional adult student/re-entry students
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Deer Lodge MT
- Applicant must be attending school full or part-time (min. of 6 credits)

- Applicant must be a senior graduating from Billings Senior High School.
- Applicant must have made significant academic progress during their high school career in the face of extraordinary obstacles. Those obstacles may be physical, mental, economic or a combination of obstacles of any sort, the results of which have created the seeds of failure over which the student has persevered.
- Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Applicant must have financial need for the scholarship.

Uri Barnea Music Scholarship: (23URIB)
- Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Billings high school.
- Applicant must have performed at least one solo at a State Music Festival on a violin, viola, cello, or bass.
- Applicant must provide documentation of receiving a 'Superior' rating.
- Applicant must demonstrate a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- FASFA is requested, although financial circumstances may not be based on financial need
- Applicant must plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (university, college, community college, college of technology, or technical school).
