Montana Impact Investing Program
UNLEASHING CHARITABLE CAPITAL IN MONTANA
The Montana Community Foundation is proud to provide a program that generates a positive impact in our state.
The Montana Impact Investing Program is dedicated to creating significant and measurable positive impact, alongside a financial return. This program provides investment capital to organizations for initiatives that align with MCF’s impact areas.
Impact Investing Details:
MCF aims to make investments in Montana organizations that meet the following criteria:
- Investment is consistent with MCF’s mission and aligned with at least one of MCF’s Impact Areas including Education, Equity and Culture; Community and Economic Vitality; Land and Resiliency; and Health and Wellbeing.
- Benefit for seniors, Native Americans, youth, women, unhoused Montanans, or Montana’s ALICE population (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed).
- Support for communities facing disinvestment (e.g. rural areas, tribal communities, or regions with population loss).
- The investment has a broader statewide impact or service to large populations.
- Catalytic investments or those that promote greater long-term impact.
- Alignment with local or regional community plans.
Loan amounts will vary between $100,000 and $1 million, resulting in a total investment range of $1.25 million to $1.5 million annually. Over the next five years, MCF hopes to invest $9 million in total assets in communities across Montana.
