Prairie Benefits Community Foundation

Mission

The mission of Prairie Benefits Community Foundation is to grow a permanent endowment that can respond to the current and future needs of Prairie County, including the towns of Terry and Fallon and the outlying rural areas. The foundation accomplishes this by working with donors and their financial advisors to provide flexible, efficient, and lasting ways for them to benefit their community.

They initiate responses that focus on the needs within the community and will make grants that have a significant impact upon the recipients in the areas of education, health and human services, arts and culture, historic preservation, and community and economic development.

History

The idea for a community foundation began several years ago when a non-active 501(c)(3) organization was being dissolved. The tax-exempt status and name for Friends for Cherry Creek Dam were changed to Prairie Benefits, along with the mission of the "new" organization.
