Grant Opportunities for Conservation Projects in Gallatin Valley

The Montana Community Foundation (MCF) is pleased to announce the availability of grants through the Charles L. and Polly Anceney Gallatin Valley Fund Program (Anceney Gallatin Valley Program). These grants support conservation efforts dedicated to protecting and preserving the natural environment of the Gallatin Valley.

The Anceney Gallatin Valley Program provides financial assistance to nonprofit organizations, academic institutions, and government agencies engaged in biodiversity conservation, habitat restoration, and sustainable resource management. Grant awards will typically range from $10,000 to $30,000, with funding determined by the scope and merit of the proposed projects. The Anceney Gallatin Valley Program grant opens online April 1 and closes May 30.

The program was established through a legacy gift from Charles (Chuck) L. Anceney, a Montana cowboy with deep ties to the state and a passion for conservation. His vision ensures ongoing support for preserving the landscapes and ecosystems of the Gallatin Valley, which includes portions of Gallatin, Park, Madison, and Meagher counties.

“We are honored to continue the philanthropic legacy of the Anceney family,” said Mary Rutherford, MCF President & CEO. “Their dedication to conservation in the Gallatin Valley will have a lasting impact in protecting Montana’s natural beauty.”

Eligible applicants do not need to be based in the Gallatin Valley, but their projects must focus on conservation efforts within the region.
