The Montana Community Foundation Adds Staff in Billings and the Hi-Line

The Montana Community Foundation (MCF) announces the addition of two key staff members located in Billings and Havre. Heather Ohs and Jim Bennett join MCF as Philanthropy Officers.

In their roles, Heather and Jim will work with donors and professional advisors to achieve their charitable goals through estate giving and planned giving.

“We are thrilled to welcome Heather and Jim to our team,” said Mary Rutherford, MCF President and Chief Executive Officer. “Heather and Jim bring incredible experience in helping people and their advisors make lasting gifts to benefit Montana. They are the right people to join our team at this time because we’ve seen an increased demand for our philanthropic services across the state. Having experienced professional staff members full time in Billings and on the Hi-Line will enable us to better respond to requests for our assistance.”

Heather Ohs lives in Billings and has more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. Formerly, Heather was the Director of Major Gifts at Rocky Mountain College. Prior to that, Heather served as the Executive Vice President of Development at the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch Foundation. Heather has a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications from the University of Montana, a master’s degree in Public Relations from Montana State University- Billings, and a certificate in Fundraising Management from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

Jim Bennett lives in Havre and has extensive knowledge of relationship management, fund development, and donor stewardship. Jim was most recently the Relationship Manager at Northwest Farm Credit Services. Prior to that, he served as the Executive Director of the MSU Northern Alumni Foundation. Jim has a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Montana and a graduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems from North Carolina State University.
