Background

The intent of the Bigger Sky Scholarship Fund is to assist students of any ethnicity in pursuing postsecondary education for the purpose of realizing their vocation. The founder of the Bigger Sky Scholarship Fund hopes to enable the dreams of a wide variety of students, including those who have not had the advantage of a stable home environment.

Criteria

Required Criteria

The following are required criteria for this scholarship. Applicants must:

  • have graduated from a high school on the Fort Peck Reservation within the last three years.
  • be accepted or currently enrolled at an accredited educational institution, including colleges and universities, junior colleges, tribal colleges, trade schools, or vocational programs.
  • demonstrate financial need.

Preferred Criteria

Preference in consideration will be given to applicants who:

  • are, or will be, graduates of Wolf Point High School in Wolf Point, MT.

Continuing Criteria

Scholarship recipients will be eligible to receive the awarded scholarship for up to 4 academic years (over a 5-year period). Current recipients of this scholarship looking to continue the scholarship for another year must:

  • continue to meet the required criteria for this scholarship;
  • remaining in good academic standing; and
  • complete the MCF Continued Scholarship Form (sent via email in early Spring to each recipient).

Reapplication

Previous recipients are NOT allowed to apply again.

This scholarship typically provides the following each academic year.
