Background
The Mark Kelly Scholarship in Memory of Ruth Kelly was created to benefit graduates of Jefferson High School in Boulder, MT who have completed one year of postsecondary education and who are nontraditional students.
Criteria
Required Criteria
The following are required criteria for this scholarship. Applicants must:
- be a graduate from Jefferson High School in Boulder, MT.
- have completed one successful year at an accredited postsecondary educational institution.
- be a traditional, nontraditional, or graduate student. Nontraditional status is based on the presence of one or more of the following characteristics: older than typical age, part-time attendance, being independent of parents, working full-time while enrolled, having dependents, being a single parent, and being a recipient of a HiSET or GED completion certificate (or equivalent).
Preferred Criteria
Preference in consideration will be given to applicants who are:
- pursuing a career in teaching with additional consideration for those who plan to teach in areas of Journalism and Liberal Arts.
Selection for this scholarship is based on the applicant's academic resume, financial need, special circumstances, and journalism experience.
