Background

The Stanley Howard Larson Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of the son of Harry and Florence Larson, Stanley, who graduated from Helena High School (HHS) in 1958. Stanley was an industrious student, working hard both in and out of school. As well, Stanley was an accomplished auto mechanic, a talented golfer, and an excellent swimmer. Stanley went on from HHS to attend the University of Montana (UM). While there, he was active in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps and was recognized as the "Outstanding Cadet" in his class. Stanley was also on the UM swim team. Stanley graduated from UM with a B.S. in Business Administration. The donors wish to annually recognize and encourage a deserving graduate of HHS by awarding a scholarship to assist that student in pursuing their postsecondary educational goals.

Criteria

Required Criteria

The following are required criteria for this scholarship. Applicants must:

• be a graduating senior from Helena High School in Helena, MT.
• demonstrate a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• be enrolled, per the requirements of this scholarship, at an accredited postsecondary institution by the start of the first term of the awarded period.

Selection criteria includes financial need.
