Charles L. and Polly Anceney Gallatin Valley Fund Keeps Conservation Moving
August 19, 2026
A Gallatin Valley nonprofit is driving conservation forward with a new truck purchased with support from the Charles L. and Polly Anceney Gallatin Valley Fund.
Established in 2001 by a Montana cowboy whose family had deep roots in the Gallatin Valley, the fund supports conservation efforts that protect and preserve the region’s natural environment.
Grow Wild works to conserve native species in the Upper Gallatin Watershed through education, habitat restoration, and collaborative land stewardship. The nonprofit will use its new truck to haul an educational trailer, as well as the soil, weeds, tools, and educational materials needed for its work. The vehicle will help staff bring hands-on conservation education to farmers markets, community events, youth activities, and other locations throughout the Gallatin Valley.
Through hard work and determination, and with the support and confidence of others, the Anceney family established and grew the Flying D Ranch into more than 100,000 acres, making it one of Montana’s most beautiful and renowned ranches. Today, the family’s enduring legacy supports biodiversity conservation, habitat restoration, and sustainable resource management in the place they called home.
