Background
The T. Eugene Young Montana's Promise Scholarship was created to encourage Montana high school students to pursue a degree related to science, technology, engineering, mathematics or healthcare. The goal of this scholarship is to support Montana's high school seniors, strengthen the future of Montana's workforce by increasing the number of STEM and Healthcare graduates in the state.
Criteria
Required Criteria
The following are required criteria for this scholarship. Applicants must:
- be a high school senior graduating from a Montana High School.
- demonstrate a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- be going on to college to study STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) or healthcare.
- be enrolled, per the requirements of this scholarship, at an accredited postsecondary institution by the start of the first term of the awarded period.
Preferred Criteria
Preference in consideration will be given to applicants who are:
- plan to attend a college or university in Montana.
Selection is based on financial need, academic achievement, leadership ability, school and community participation, and personal attributes.
Reapplication
Previous recipients are NOT allowed to apply again.

This scholarship typically provides the following each academic year.

Typically $1,000 to $1,500 per academic year.

Typically 25 to 30 recipients each year.
