(Havre)
Curt was born and raised in Helena, Montana. He attended Montana State University in Bozeman before completing his education at Carroll College in Helena, where he earned his Bachelor’s degrees in Business, Economics, and Accounting in 1982.
In the spring of 1982, Curt and his young family moved to Havre, Montana, where he began a rewarding career as a CPA. He worked with Galusha, Higgins & Galusha, PC, from 1982 until 2015, when the firm merged with Wipfli, LLP. He continued practicing full-time until retiring in May 2021. Curt developed a passion for serving farm and ranch clients throughout his career. What began as a focus on accounting and tax preparation evolved into helping families with estate and business succession planning. Despite starting with little knowledge of agriculture, he quickly became deeply invested in supporting hardworking farm and ranch families as they planned for future generations.
Since retiring from full-time practice, Curt has continued to assist a select group of agricultural clients with strategic business and succession planning.
He and his wife, a retired teacher, enjoy spending time with their three children, five grandsons, and their “mostly retired” dogs.
