Dr. Stephanie E. Siegel is a retired psychotherapist with a distinguished career specializing in adoption. She is the author of Parenting Your Adopted Child: A Complete and Loving Guide, published by Prentice Hall, and has shared her expertise through appearances on television talk shows and a monthly column in Women's News.
As the mother of four children, three of whom are adopted, Dr. Siegel combined personal experience with professional expertise to support families navigating the complex and evolving dynamics of adoption. Her practice encompassed counseling for individuals and groups, offering guidance to bioparents considering relinquishment, infertile couples, adoptive parents, and families throughout the adoption process. She also worked extensively with adopted children, adult adoptees, and bioparents during search and reunion journeys.
Dr. Siegel holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles, a master’s degree from the California Graduate Institute, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a focus on adoption from International College in Los Angeles.
